In May 2018, I was one of 13 runners from around the globe to take part in the Bali Hope Ultra Marathon and become one of the very few people in the World to have run the 84km coast to coast route across Bali. That in itself was a tiny part of the real intention behind this run, which is to forever change the future of an entire generation of children in the village of Tigawasa, in Northern Bali.
Partnered with The Classroom of Hope and Bali Children Foundation, two award winning organisations that have already changed the educational opportunities for thousands of underprivileged kids, we are aiming to raise funds to provide 100 Tigawasa children with a primary school education that would not otherwise be available to them.
Education is such a critical foundation for empowering local communities to take control of their own future, and the ability to use my love of endurance running to have such a material and long-lasting impact on a rural community in Indonesia, a country that I personally think Australia owes a very large social and moral debt to in many ways, is incredibly meaningful to me.
Please support my campaign by giving whatever you can using the DONATE button. The more people that know about Classroom of Hope and the Bali Children Foundation, the greater the impact, so please also spread the word by sharing my page with your friends and family.
Every donor will receive an impact report on the outcomes from this project, as well as plenty of other updates and details of the run and experience itself. Thank you in advance for your generosity, it means a lot!
